KINGDOM OF FISH

One of the most successful nature productions ever broadcast on Swedish Television and winner of numerous international prizes, Kingdom of Fish (3 X 60’) is the story of Sweden’s relationship with its remarkable waters. It introduces viewers to the complex web of unique creatures beneath the surface of lakes, rivers, creeks, marshlands and seas. But this astonishing universe is being threatened by overfishing, hydroelectric power, habitat loss and pollution.

With the proper care, these ecosystems can continue to provide oxygen, food, clean water, jobs and wealth. The series finds grains of hope among these challenges, colorful examples of good fish management, habitat restoration and clever water use.

Kingdom of Fish has captured the hearts of its audience and rekindled their hope, resulting in thousands of letters from inspired viewers as well as new legislation by the Swedish government. Read more here.
